The Vermont Furniture Company (1886-1980) was known for making fine maple and birch furniture and an eclectic line of American-made furniture. Its handles are made of solid wood instead of metal hardware.
It went through various ups and downs throughout its business life. It can be divided into 3 periods:
The “Mission Style” furniture, 1900-1910; the "smokers", 1910-1920/30; and Colonial Revival furniture, 1933-1964.
In 1980 it closed.
